Here is a few things said on Illinois Matmen about Alex and Billy, I couldnt agree more! Congratulations to Alex on another great season, and to Billy for raising such great kids that he should be extremely proud of!!! (Both on and off the Wrestling Mat!)

Having been involved with IKWF for only a few years I've come to realize just how much interest in the sport is focused around the "little guys". Most of the talk and interest is about and in kids under 100 lbs. It's really a little guys world in the IKWF. That's a shame because there are some outstanding kids in the heavier weights that get little if any recognition. Maybe they don't care but that doesn't mean we shouldn't take the time to show some appreciation for their efforts.
I'll start out with Senior 166 State Champ, Alex Benoit. This kid can really wrestle and proved it again this weekend in Rockford by winning his second straight title...this year as a 7th grade Senior. He is a clinician on his feet and is extremely focused and confident in his abilities. On top of that, it doesn't appear that he cut all that much weight if any at all (don't know that for a fact). He's not weak but not that physically overpowering either. He is a great example of what someone can do if they really learn how to wrestle. It's a joy to watch him at work. I want to congradulate him on a great state championship and wish him the best in the future.

Alex (and his brother) are great kids --- I'm very happy for Alex and am looking forward to watching him in HS.

I couldn't agree more... terrific kid from a terrific family by all accounts. His Dad is a great guy who has a lot to be proud of.
I am proud that Alex and my son have become friends and genuinely root for each other.
